Released by Johnnie Walker in November 2018 28 Year Old Midnight Blend is a limited-edition whisky and the fifth and final blend of the?John Walker & Sons Private Collection.
A truly indulgent whisky, this blend features aged whiskies from distilleries including Cambus in the Lowlands, Strathmillon in Speyside and Caol Ila on Islay and Clynelish in the Highlands. When it comes to flavour, Midnight Blend?s complex character is layered with butterscotch, caramel and toffee flavours and a touch of fruitiness and spice.
A smooth and opulent whisky specifically created to be enjoyed after dinner, or approaching the ?midnight? moment, the blend is best served neat in a balloon glass and gently warmed in the hand to release its distinctive aromas, or for?a truly decadent serve this rich spirit can be enjoyed with a square of dark chocolate. ??Whiskies aged for 28 years are rare, and very special. In our search to find the flavours and characteristics necessary for a rich, indulgent Scotch like Midnight Blend, we were very lucky to have access to some of the most mature Reserves?drawn from the four corners of Scotland.?

Jim and fellow blender Craig Wallace completed a project of sampling hundreds of Johnnie Walker single malt and grain whiskies to select the few to go into the blend, skilfully balancing the whiskies to reflect the various characters of the Scottish regions.
