Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin is the brainchild of the curious mind of PJ Rigney. Throughout the years his travels brought him to the wild and unspoiled landscape of Drumshanbo, Ireland. He created The Shed Distillery of PJ Rigney, with medieval copper pot stills, and began a quest to fuse oriental botanicals with the local Irish ones. As it turned out, they got on very well indeed.
Slow distilled by hand in medieval copper pot stills with oriental botanicals and gunpowder tea, Gunpowder Irish Gin combines 8 pot still botanicals and 4 vapor infused botanicals in the oriental traditions of distilling. The result is a delightfully fresh and rounded up front with citrus, juniper & spicy notes immediately evident. The expected juniper follows close behind. Gunpowder Tea, meadowsweet & Coriander are all notable.

About Drumshanbo
The Shed Distillery, founded in 2014, is part of the new wave of Irish craft distilleries, many of which start by producing gin while their whiskey matures. In 2016, PJ Rigney released Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, crafted using medieval copper pot stills and blending oriental botanicals with local Irish ones for a harmonious flavor. The gin features fresh citrus notes and a spicy kick, with Gunpowder Tea—carefully rolled green tea pellets, originating from the Tang Dynasty—playing a key role in its bold and bright profile.
