Such a special soil deserved an equally unique wine, made using the old-style Field Wine method, which focuses on exploiting all the special features of the soil by means of techniques rooted in the most traditional basics of winemaking. The grapes are selected, regardless their variety, with a view to capturing the nature of the few vineyards growing on the unusual terroir above 2,400 meters (7,800 feet) high. The mythical savoir-faire with which the wines are made, together with the peculiarities of the grapes growing at such extreme heights, turn Chañar Punco into the gem of our terroirs.
