Barone di Valforte Abruzzo Pecorino is a classic white wine from the Abruzzo region of central-eastern Italy. The estate is owned by the Sorricchio family, who have held the baronial fiefdom of Valforte since the 14th century, spanning nine consecutive generations. Today, the winery is managed by brothers Francesco and Guido along with Guido’s daughter, Annamaria Sorricchio. Their philosophy combines centuries of tradition with technological innovation, such as a new generation photovoltaic system, to maintain sustainable vineyard management while respecting the environment.
This wine is a straw-yellow colour and offers an aromatic profile featuring wild honey, citrus, and floral notes like broom and white flowers. On the palate, it is fresh yet strongly structured, delivering flavours of Asian pear, honeysuckle, and apricot backed by a pleasant minerality. The body is medium to full with lively acidity and a fruity finish. Composed of 100% Pecorino, the wine is vinified in stainless steel vats with cold stabilization to preserve its fresh character
